Operational Services
The SPHY-model is used in a broad range of operational services in decision support systems. SPHY can be used for operational services at practically any spatial or temporal scale. Examples of operational services include:
- Stream flow forecasts for hydropower production
- Soil water content and groundwater level forecasts for irrigation advice
- Soil water content forecast to analyse risks of disease spreading
SPHY can be setup to assimilate remote sensing data, data from Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) and in-situ sensor data. For example in a reservoir inflow forecast service in Chile, remote sensing snow cover data as well as in-situ measured lake levels are assimilated in SPHY.
